A Fun Week in Pre-K 1!
Hi Everyone,
It was great to all be back together in the classroom again! The children were very happy and the days went very quick!
You may have heard, Our Reading Street Book this week was Miss Mary Mack by Mary Ann Hoberman & Nadine Bernard Westcott. This sing along book was a hit! The children also learned the clapping game to go along with this rhyme.
Our Reading Street Song was It's Amazing. Our vocabulary words were fell, fence, jumped, people, screamed, and yard.
Our Letter of the Week was J. Our song was Jump, Jump, Jump for Joy.
We also read Peanut Butter and Jelly by Jarrett Krosoczka & Geraldine's Big Snow by Holly Keller.
Other activities in our classroom this week were:
Discovery: Squigz....lots of fun and creativity here! Suction Construction-the pieces flex and stick to each other and the table. The children had fun building and even hearing the pieces pop as they pulled them apart when they were done.
Math: Numbered cups and pipe cleaners. We continue to work on identifying the numbers. The children would thread the corresponding number of pipe cleaners into the top of the cup.
Project Table: We made penguins for our bulletin board in the hallway. Each one was different and I can't wait for you to see them! Some friends made more than one so they were able to bring one home now.
J is for Jewel.....gluing jewels on the letter J
J is for Jellyfish...putting a jellyfish together and some even had jewels on them too.
Art Easel: Jungle stamps and markers
Writing Table: J Worksheets & Books and alphabet stickers and a tree to match the letters to. Some friends even used their scissors to cut their trees out when they were done matching up the letters.
Looking ahead our Letter of the Week will be D. Show & Tell will be on Wednesday.
Have a great weekend!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Kelley
