A Look at Our Week in Mixed Age!

Good evening mixed age families!

This week was very busy in the classroom! On Monday we celebrated St. Patrick's Day and even found evidence of a visit from a leprechaun! Tuesday, we had a visit from Mrs. T,  where we sang songs and got to listen to her wonderful stories. Wednesday, we had a visit from the Audubon Society of Rhode Island, where the kids were able to meet Boxie the box turtle, and today we had our first class field trip to the Attleboro Art Museum. The kids had a wonderful time and did a great job both walking to and from the museum and while there. Thank you to all of the chaperones who helped make this trip an even more pleasant one. This week's letter of the week was T and next week we will be focusing on the letter U.

This weeks centers included:

The art table: the kids created their own unique rainbows with cotton balls, paper plates, and construction paper.

The writing table included March themed coloring pages and free draw.

The art easel included a leprechaun sticker activity as well as dot markers and shamrocks.

The math table included pots for gold and gold coins for matching and counting.

The discovery table included a rainbow themed fine motor activity where the children made rainbows out of marshmallows, Fruit loops, and pipe cleaners. Everyone really enjoyed this activity!

The books we read in class included:

Dr. Seuss's Thing One, Thing Two, and the Leprechaun

                              Calendar Kids: Meet March

Clark the Shark: Lost and Found

During music and movement times this week we listened to various freeze dances, including one by Leon the Leprechaun! The kids even tried out river dancing and had a blast in doing so!

I hope that you all have a wonderful weekend and look forward to seeing you next week for class and conferences!

Sincerely,

Mrs. Mackenzie and Mrs. Haynes
