December Fun In Mixed Age!
Hello Mixed Age families!
We had another busy week in the classroom, capped off by a visit from Mrs. T on Friday! She joined us for music and dancing, and its always an extra special treat when she visits around the holidays.
Here’s a recap of what we did this week. Our pretend center is now a gift wrapping station with “gifts” to choose from, and holiday fabric and bows to use as wrapping paper. This has been a huge hit with the kids! The sensory table is full of tinsel and crinkle paper as well as bows, and other festive items. The children have enjoyed seeing what they can discover in the table and matching up the different items.
Discovery: Stacking rocks of different shapes were used to create towers, houses, and patterns. The children were so focused on trying to make the towers as tall as they could!
Math: The math table was busy this week with mitten math. The friends strengthened their finger muscles by clipping small clothespins onto numbered mittens.
Art: We continued working on our bulletin board by decorating mini trees cut from the paper they painted last week. The children also made lots of watercolor paintings and cards to hang up in the classroom. At the art easel we made strands of Christmas lights using fingerprints and ink pads.
