Feeling Thankful in Mixed Age!

Good Afternoon Families,

What a beautiful fall week we had this week. The kids have enjoyed playing outside everyday this week and soaking up the sunshine. The week flew by and the kids have been super busy at the centers in the classroom. There has been lots of block building and pie making as well as taking care of the babies at our doctors office.

Here is what we had at the other centers in the classroom:

Math Table~ Numbered turkeys 1-10. Each turkey has Velcro dots and a number on it, they put that many feathers on each turkey. Lots of counting going on.

Discovery Table: Dress the turkey, we had two colanders flipped over with a turkey body attached, they used colorful feathers to stick in the holes to decorate the turkeys.

Easel~ Dot sticker turkey pictures along with markers to use

Art/Writing Table~ Turkey track painting using orange paint and pipe cleaners shaped like turkey feet. We also finished up making our turkeys for the bulletin board in the hallway and making pumpkin pies.

Books:

Pete the Cat and his Magic Sunglasses

How do Dinosaurs Choose a Pet

Music:

Bear Hunt

Freeze Dance

Animal Action

Stand up, Sit Down

On Tuesday we held an election in our class. Everyone was able to choose what book we should read at circle time. They each drew a line on the board above the book they wanted us to read. Pete the Cat and his Magic Sunglasses was top choice by 1 vote! Emoji

Tuesday Mrs. G came in with the book The Leopard's Drum and a real drum, everyone got a chance to tap on the drum after she read the book.

Thursday Mr. G came in and read The World Needs more Purple.

Have a nice long weekend and we will see you all on Monday!

Regards,

Julie Haynes & Katy Fyrberg
