Good-Bye 2023 in 5 Day Pre-K!
Hi Everyone,
Our week went by quickly. Our Project Table was a very busy spot this week. We worked on the making the holiday gifts, decorated gingerbread men (thank you to Liam's Mom for making these), finger painted lights, made reindeer food and decorated wreaths. I hope you all like your gift.
This was our last week of the Post Office (our Pre-K class sure did deliver A LOT of mail) and green sparkly play doh.
This week we read Bear Stays Up for Christmas and listened to Merry Christmas Mr. Snowman. We also played a game of dreidel, danced and sang to holiday songs and played musical chairs.
Mrs. Lehane was in on Monday and read The Mitten by Jan Brett. This was an interactive story and each child had an animal from the story to put in the mitten.
Our Reading Street Book this week was Round Is A Mooncake: A Book of Shapes by Roseanne Thong. "A little girl's neighborhood becomes a discovery ground of things round, square and rectangular." The children were very excited to point out objects in our book and name what shape the object was. We also did this within our classroom. This is a fun activity that you could do in your home too.
Our song was "Come With Me". Our vocabulary words were ticket, envelope, mooncake, basket and room.
Other activities in our classroom this week were:
Discovery: Can you build a Christmas Tree? Green cups, tea lights and pom poms were available to create a tree.
Math: Math counting activity, connecting the correct number of links
Art Easel: Pine Needle Painting
I wanted to thank you very much for my gifts. I truly appreciate your generosity! I wish you and your families a very Happy Holiday!
I look forward to seeing everyone when we return to school on January 2, 2024.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Kelley
