Happy Thanksgiving from Enrichment!
Good afternoon!
This was a quick and different kind of week in Enrichment! From only being two days, to a different schedule today to include the Friendship celebration the kids did well!
The Friendship Celebration included listening to a Pete the Cat: The First Thanksgiving read by a special guest reader- Mrs. Lehane! We then listened to our friends from the other classes as they performed the songs they prepared. Then it was our turn! We wore our tree hats... your little ones handprint, surrounded by one acorn decorated by each Enrichment friend, and sang their hearts out! The students did a fantastic job! We are so proud of them!
This week we read The Thank You Book by Mo Willams. This is the last book in the Elephant and Piggie Series. Piggie wanted to thank all the friends that they met in their book series, while Gerald was sure she would forget someone. After all her thanking was done Gerald reminded her about one last Thank You... the readers. Gerald and Piggie thanked us for reading their stories, "We couldn't be us without you". What a great way to end our month focused on thankfulness!
New things in CENTERS this week...
Art- "I'm Thankful for" placemats. Our little artists were invited to draw a picture of something they are thankful for, which was laminated so that they can use it for a placemat on their Thanksgiving table!
Easel- The children used dot markers to outline circles, squares, and triangles!
Discovery- We discovered our inner baker this week! The students scooped and stirred the better for our pumpkin muffins! It was fun to see how the ingredients changed as we stirred!
Ending our month of Thankfulness, we want to thank you, the parents. Thank you for trusting us with your little loves. This is not a responsibility we take lightly, I can assure you. We're thankful every day for your children, and for your support.
We hope you all have a very Happy Thanksgiving! We'll see you next Monday for conferences, for those that applies to.
Warmly,
Christina Renoni
and Brenda Daday
