Happy Thanksgiving from Pre-K 1!
Hi All,
We had a great two days of school.
Some of the activities that took place in our classroom were:
Art Easel: Water color painting-there were turkey worksheets available to paint.
Project Table: Free Art
Writing Table: Trolls haircutting worksheets....this was very popular. The children have been working hard at their scissor skills. I handed out plastic bags to some friends that wanted to show their families the pieces they cut.
Putty...4 different kinds of putty from super soft to firm and this was the place to be today. The kids were having so much fun (and strengthening their fine motor skills). I told them this would be available when they got back to school after Thanksgiving.
Math Table: Geoboards
Listening Center: Run, Turkey, Run by Diane Mayr
Discovery Table: Magnets...microphones, bamboo, ice cream, robots were just some of the things that were made from the magnetic pieces.
On Monday, we read Give Thanks For Each Day by Steve Metzger.
Today, we had a wonderful time at our Friendship Feast. There were a lot of goodies! We made a snack mix (cheerios, Fritos, marshmallows & chocolate chips). We also had apple slices, pumpkin muffins, veggie sticks and water. Mrs. Fyrberg read The Thankful Book by Todd Parr. We performed our song for the other classes in Fellowship Hall. Our group did a wonderful job singing "The Turkey Dance" (video of the performance will be sent separately.) I was very proud.
Just a reminder that we do not have school on Monday, November 28th. It is parent/teacher conferences.
I hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Kelley
