Hello March in Pre-K 1!
Hi All,
Our Reading Street Book this week was Whatever the Weather by Karen Wallace. Our Reading Street Song was What's The Weather Like? Our vocabulary words were weather, storm, cold, warm, snow and bending. It was a perfect week to talk about the weather! We saw snow, rain and sun. We talked about listening to the wind.
We also read Snow Day by Betsy Maestro on Monday in anticipation of a possible "snow day" on Tuesday. Other stories we read were Cat In The Hat and Mr. Brown Can Moo! Can You? by Dr. Seuss.
Our Letter of the Week was A. Our Letter Sound Song was Clap, Clap, Clap for the Animal Act.
Other activities included:
Block Area: Large Tinker Toy building
Math: Unifix cubes were used to make patterns. We also counted and matched them to the correct number.
Project Table: Alligator....pieces to create the letter A and turn it into an alligator Decorating a Dr. Seuss hat & cutting it out Making an ant
Listening Center: When The Snow Falls by Linda Booth Sweeney
Art Easel: Shape stamps were used. The children were busy coloring in the shapes and turning them into different objects.
Sensory Table: Arctic animals, snow (paper shred), ice and blocks to build habitats.
Looking ahead, Show & Tell will be for Letter V on Wednesday. Also, our Spirit Day, Pajama Day, is on Wednesday too.
Have a nice weekend!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Kelley
