Joyful January Moments in Mixed Age!
Good evening Mixed Age families!
I hope that you are all having a great week despite the very cold weather! We finally got a chance to go outside yesterday and today, and the children had so much fun playing in the snow! I am glad to be back and missed everyone very much. This week the class continued to participate in fun filled winter themed activities. Here is a look at what we did!
The discovery center included a create your own snowflake activity using pony beads and pipe cleaners.
The math table involved a snowman match and count activity with numbered hats, where the children were able to count the correct number of buttons and put them on the snowmen.
The art table included a torn paper art snowflake craft.
The art easel included water color painting coffee filters which were then cut when dry and turned into unique snowflake designs. These are now adorning the tree in the hallway.
The writing table included both free draw and line tracing.
The children continue to enjoy the polar themed sensory table and are equally enjoying the hot cocoa station in dramatic play. I have been thoroughly enjoying all of the delicious hot chocolate and coffee concoctions the kids have been coming up with, even if some of them cost over $100.00!
This week we read: Sneezy The Snowman and The Snow Thief; the kids loved both of these cute winter stories!
The letter of the week next week will be N.
I hope that you all have an amazing weekend, and we look forward to seeing you all next week!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Mackenzie and Mrs. Haynes
