Lots of Learning in 4 Day Pre-K!
Hello Families!
We made it through our first full week of Pre-K! The kids all did GREAT! They are really starting to get used to our routine. Next week we will be starting "Reading Street" and "Letter Of The Week". The first letter we are going to start with is L! The kids are super excited because I told them that Show and Tell also starts next week. So every Tuesday (unless I email otherwise) will be Show and Tell. The object that your child brings in must have to do with our letter of the week. Some examples are Lightening McQueen, lion stuffed animals, Luigi etc.. Please make sure to only bring ONE item in that way everyone can get a turn!
Here is a look at our centers...
Art: Bingo Dot Apples, 1st Day of School Handprints and Pete the Cat and his Groovy Shoes
Easel: Water-color paint
Science: Sensory Bottles & Apple Tasting
Math: Counting the Apple Seeds and Tracing Numbers
Writing: Help the Worm get to the Apple (tracing worksheet)
On Wednesday we did Apple Tasting- YUMM! I cut up red, yellow and green apples for the kids to try and they voted on which one they liked more. To my surprise 7 kids liked yellow and 1 liked green!
We also had our 1st fire drill this week as well. The kids all did a pretty good job of getting outside quickly and quietly!
