Lots of Learning in the 3's!
Hello 3's Families,
What a wonderful week! We were able to enjoy the beautiful fall weather, and even got to play in the leaves. This month Jack and Jill is talking about and celebrating community helpers. On Thursday we had a special guest, community helper Nurse Amanda, who taught us what it is like to work in a hospital and help patients!
A few reminders:
Please make sure your child has used the bathroom and/or is in a new, dry pull up or diaper prior to drop off. Children should be completing the morning routine step by step upon arrival. This routine is posted outside the classroom door :) We open the door at 9AM and go right outside, so please have the arrival routine complete and be ready when the door opens.
Also, please remember to check your family mailboxes! Thank you!
This week-
Book - Spookie Pookie by Sandra Boynton. In this story, Pookie tries on costumes one by one, but somehow can’t find the right thing. Ask your child what costume Pookie chose!
What’s new in Centers?
Art- Using small pieces of colored tissue paper, we created apple sun-catchers. These are now hanging in the windows in our classroom.
Discovery Table- Light up blocks. These were so fun to play with and the children really got creative with their light up buildings.
Easel- Watercolor hidden leaf paintings. This was a BIG hit! As the children began painting on “blank” paper, they noticed something very special happening.
Math- Pumpkin Math Ten-Frames
Pretend center- This is our last week of using recycled materials to create new things in the pretend center. It has been great to see their little imaginations at work!
Hope you all have a great weekend!
