November Memories in Pre-K 2!
Good afternoon Pre-K 2 families,
We had a very busy week of playing, dancing, singing and learning. Check out the attached photos. Cindy Tuminelli from Tunes for Tots brought her guitar and shared some songs and stories with us. The children had lots of fun dancing like scarecrows and turkeys. Thanks Mrs. T for visiting!
TUESDAY, 11/22 SNACK UPDATE: We will have our Friendship Feast up in the church's Fellowship Hall. We will be serving an allergen-free snack of: apple slices, veggie straws, pumpkin muffins, snack mix (Fritos, marshmallows, chocolate chips, cheerios, etc.) and water. Your child does NOT need a snack on this day. If they do not drink water, please send them a drink in a reusable drink bottle- no juice boxes or juice bags please.
DECEMBER SHOW AND TELL: We have been exploring rhyming words at school. Please have your child bring in two items or pictures of items that RHYME. Show and Tell will be WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 7th.
This week at MORNING MEETING:
Weekly Stories: "The Thankful Book" by Todd Parr and "Feast for Ten" by Cathryn Falwell.
Rhyme: Practicing our Thank You Song for the Friendship Feast
Seeds of STEM Focus: We had a very exciting surprise when we got to school on Monday. The box from the story "Panda's Problem" had been delivered to our classroom! The box was wrapped up with string and tape and the children had to come up with plans to get the box open. Ask your child what their plan was. I will also share the paper plans with you during our Family-Teacher Conferences.
Here's what's happening at CENTERS:
Art- turkey hats and free art, painting turkey at the easel
Blocks- wooden blocks, dollhouse cubes, Paw Patrol toys, ponies and little people, pandas and bamboo trees
Dramatic Play- Birthday Party, with cake, cupcakes, birthday plates, birthday hats, baby dolls and presents
Writing/Library- Books about Thanksgiving and friendship, Thank You cards
Playdough: purple, cupcake wrappers, candles, gems and beads for decorating Math- color matching with different colored little people and houses Science- using magnet wands to discover different things that will stick to them
Sensory Table- sand, shovels, buckets and trucks
Next week will be a quick one as we only have school on Monday and Tuesday. Because it is a quick week, I won't be sending out an email update. I will send some pictures from the friendship feast though. I wanted to tell you just how thankful I am that I have the opportunity to teach your children each week. They are kind, caring children and SO smart! I am also grateful for all of you who are so supportive of your children along their educational journey. I hope that you have a wonderful holiday. Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
With gratitude,
Brenda Daday
