October is Over in the 3's!
As October comes to an end in the 3's class, we're looking ahead! We're enjoying the new playground, and learning more about our friends! The children are becoming more comfortable with each other, and enjoy playing together.
Finishing up Community Helpers Month, we joined the Mixed Age class for a visit from Firefighter Tom! He explained all about his uniform, and how it keeps him safe when he's helping others. He brought some tools along to show us how he holds doors open, even when he can't see them.
Mr. G came to read Room on the Broom to us today, too! It's a funny story about a nice witch who picks up her friends on her broom, but too many friends on the little broom creates a problem! In the end the friends work together to solve the problem, and the witch makes a new broom with enough room for everyone.
Our book on Thursday was Pete the Cat: 5 Little Pumpkins by James Dean. We practiced counting, and did the hand movements that go along with the poem!
What was NEW in CENTERS?
Art- The children put 5 little pumpkins (stickers) on their own gate, and colored pumpkin pictures.
Easel- Using orange and black stickers, they decorated their own pumpkin papers.
Math- We got to play with the insides of a pumpkin, without getting our hands messy! We got to squish and squash the pumpkin inside bags.
Writing table- White board pumpkins- Did you know that white board markers work really well on pumpkins? The kids do now! We're practicing our writing in all sorts of fun ways.
As always, if you have any questions or concerns, please reach out!
We hope you all have a wonderful, healthy, and safe week!
Warmly,
Ashlee Taylor and Christina Renoni
