Saying Goodbye to 2024 in 5 Day Pre-K!
Hi Everyone,
Our week went by quickly. Our Project Table was a very busy spot this week. We worked on the making the holiday gifts, decorated gingerbread men, laced beads to make candy canes, painted wood ornaments and made reindeer food I hope you all like your gift!
This was our last week of the Post Office (our Pre-K class sure did deliver A LOT of mail) and green sparkly play doh.
This week we read Gingerbread Man Loose In The School, Ten Christmas Wishes, The Perfect Present, The Night Before The Night Before Christmas and The Littlest Reindeer.
We got together with Pre-K 2 twice this week. On Wednesday, we had the Polar Express Party. We gathered together and watched the story of the Polar Express. Each child was able to decorate their own train. We had cookies and chocolate milk. And each child was given a bell.
On Thursday, we made ice cream cone trees, listened to holiday music and even played musical chairs together.
Today, we celebrated the upcoming holiday break with Grinch cookies. We danced to the Reindeer Hokey Pokey and The Hunt For The Gingerbread Man.
Other activities in our classroom this week were:
Discovery: Can you build a Christmas Tree? Green cups, tea lights and pom poms were available to create a tree.
Math: Pattern Block Puzzles
Art Easel: Decorating a tree or free art
Polar Express Train coloring sheet
Sensory Table: Tubes, tape, clothes pins, wrapping paper, tissue paper scissors and pipe cleaners....this has been such a big hit! The children have been coming up with great ideas of what they are making....telescopes, vacuums, submarines are just a few. All while working on cutting, hole punching, ripping tape, opening clothes pins and having so much fun!
