Saying Goodbye to 2024 in Mixed Age!
Good evening, everyone! We had such an amazing week here in the mixed age classroom, and now we are on to vacation! We would like to thank all of you for the beautiful, thoughtful gifts we have received this week. We are so grateful and appreciate all of you! I feel very lucky to have such an amazing group of families my first year hear at Jack and Jill. This week was lots of fun and the children were so full of excitement in anticipation of the coming holiday festivities! Here is a look at what we did throughout the week:
The art table included the creation of our own gingerbread men which were all wonderfully unique! We also decorated "presents" and Christmas bells with stamps and dot markers.
The writing table included practicing writing the letter J in writing trays with shaving cream, as well as free drawing and coloring.
The discovery center included the beloved light table with Christmas cookie cutters that the children were able to fill with multi colored bingo chips.
The math table included an activity where the children were able to roll a die and count the appropriate number of small presents out and then place them into Santa's bag! I loved hearing about all of the different things our class is asking for from Santa during this activity.
We watercolor painted at the art easel this week, which included various holiday themed sceneries and gingerbread houses.
This week our class took part in two days of Polar express themed activities, and everyone had such a blast hearing the story accompanied by their favorite stuffed animals, not to mention the cookies and chocolate milk!
The kids worked hard on wrapping their presents for Moms and Dads and were all so thrilled to bring them home this week!
This week the stories we read included:
The Gingerbread Man
How to Catch the Gingerbread Man
Twas the Night Before Christmas at My House
The Twelve Days of Christmas
This week we listened and danced to many of the classroom's favorite Christmas songs and participated in many Christmas themed freeze dances! It was such a great week, and we are hoping that all of you have a beautiful Holiday filled with fun, family, and happiness. Have an amazing vacation everyone, and we will see all of you next year!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Mackenzie and Mrs. Haynes
