The 4 Day Pre-K Weekly Scoop!
Hello Families!
Fall has definitely arrived! It is getting chillier so please remember to send in a jacket everyday with your child. I love letting them stay out as long as our schedule allows! I also want to remind everyone that we have NO SCHOOL on Monday October 14th in observance of Columbus Day. Thursday of this week we had a special visitor: Shayla from Attleboro Pediatric Dentistry came to talk to us about all things teeth! The kids did a really good job sitting and listening to her and even asking a few questions. We have 2 more visitors coming next week and 1 the following week! Our next letter of the week is T! As always, Show and Tell is on Tuesdays but if your child is out they can bring in their item when they return the following day. Here is a look at our centers...
Art: "H" Haunted Houses, Paper Plate Bears, Handprint Bats and the kids got to paint "teeth" with toothbrushes on Thursday.
Writing: a variety of "H" worksheets, books and dry erase boards
Science: We talked about Dental Health and the kids got to sort "good foods" vs "bad foods" for your teeth. I also brought in a food magazine for them to look through and cut out different foods to be sorted
Math: Teeth Dice Game- the kids rolled the dice and using the tweezers they picked up however many "teeth" they needed and put them inside the paper mouth
