The Final Week of May in Mixed Age
Hello Families,
Well our last full week of school is over, It is so hard to believe that we only have 2 more days of school left. The kids have really enjoyed spending time together and forming their relationships. We have talked a lot about where everyone will be going after the summer but a piece of me wished they would be "My Kids" forever!!! This has been a challenging year for everyone but we got through it and they all did a phenomenal job. I love all of them so much!!
Here is what we did in the classroom this week:
Math Table~ People counters and colored houses.
Discovery Table~ Magnet balls and stick and Melissa and Doug Boy and Girl Magnet builders.
Easel~ Self portraits drawings
Art/Writing Table~ A special Father's Day Activity and free art
Listening Center~Wonkey Donkey By Craig Smith
Books:
Elmo at the Zoo (thank you to Colton for sharing)
Grumpy Monkey up all Night
Animal Strike at the Zoo
Music:
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
Yellow Submarine
YMCA
We will Rock you
Butterfly Dance
Hamster Dance (freeze dance style)
Today we were able to set our butterflies free. The kids all gathered around the tent at the beginning of recess and we watched them fly away, some took a little longer so we were able to get a closer look at them.
Since we have done all 26 letters of the Alphabet we will have a special show and tell next week. Please bring in one SOFT object to show the class on Monday.
Regards,
Julie Haynes
