The First Days in Pre-K 2!
Good afternoon Pre-K 2 families,
We had a wonderful first week of school. I thoroughly enjoyed reconnecting with old students and getting to know new students better. I wanted to thank all of you for helping make the transition to school smooth for your little ones! This is the first of our weekly email updates.

This week at MORNING MEETING:
* We practiced putting our picture attendance cards up.
* We sang our "Hello, how are you?" song and students shared with classmates if they were feeling happy, sad, tired or mad.
* We learned about our picture schedule and talked about daily classroom jobs.
Weekly Story: The Pigeon HAS to Go to School! by Mo Willems
We will read the same book the first two days of the week in order for the children to work on reading comprehension and concepts of print. Next week we will also learn our first Nursery Rhyme.
This week during SMALL GROUPS, we learned how to use our name cards during center time and how to use/clean up the materials in each center and made special art work for our hallway bulletin board.
Here's what's happening at CENTERS:
Art- coloring with markers and crayons, stickers, stamps and name coloring pages, watercolor painting
Blocks- wooden blocks, wooden people, school buses and vehicles, animals
Dramatic Play- dishes, food, baby dolls
Writing/Library- people coloring pages and crayons, books about families and fall
Math- counting and sorting dinosaurs and eggs, calendar
Science- kinetic sand trays with rocks and construction trucks
Sensory Table- dried corn and beans, farm animals, fences, fruits and veggies
Playdough- red playdough, cookie cutters, rollers, scissors
We had lots of fun this week and I am looking forward to seeing the children again on Monday. Please do not hesitate to reach out to me if you have any questions or concerns. Have a great weekend!
Warmly,
Brenda Daday
