Toodle-loo 2022 in Pre-K 1!
Hi Everyone,
Our week went by quickly. Our Project Table was a very busy spot this week. We worked on the making the holiday gifts, laced beads on pipe cleaners to make candy canes, finger painted lights, made reindeer food and decorated wreaths. I hope you all like your gift.
This was our last week of the Post Office (our Pre-K class sure did deliver A LOT of mail) and green sparkly play doh.
This week we read Gingerbread Mouse by by Katy Bratun, Who Will Help Santa This Year by Jerry Pallotta and Elmo's Little Dreidel by Naomi Kleinberg. We also played a game of dreidel.
We reviewed the letters that we have learned so far this year...L,F,E,H,T,I,U,C,O,Q,G. We will pick back up with Letter of the Week after vacation.
Mrs. Lehane was in on Monday and read Secrets of Winter by Carron Brown and Georgina Tee. It was a shine-a-light book. Mrs. Lehane would hold her flashlight behind the page to show a surprise in nature. The children enjoyed guessing what was hidden.
Mrs. G came in today to do music with our class. She brought bells for each of the children as a gift. We listened to Mrs. G play her ukulele, sang and played our bells.
Other activities in our classroom this week were:
Discovery: Sense of Hearing...which sounds are the same.
Math: How Many Monkeys are jumping on the bed...counting how many monkeys were on each bed, identifying the correct number on the card and attaching a clothes pin to it.
Art Easel: Holiday paintings
I wanted to thank you very much for my gifts. I truly appreciate your generosity! I wish you and your families a very Happy Holiday!
I look forward to seeing everyone when we return to school on January 3, 2023.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Kelley
