Week 3 in Mixed Age!
Hello Mixed Age Families,
Another great week had by all! The kids are really getting used to our daily routine as each day goes by. We have started using the planning chart at center time to limit the amount of children at each center; they each have their name on a card and they move that to where they would like to play first, when they are done at their first center they move their name to the next place they want to play...... the beginning of the week they needed a lot of guidance but by Thursday they were really getting the hang of it. Kudos to all!!
Here is what we had at the centers this week:
Math Table~ Red, Green and Yellow trees and pompoms to do color sorting
Discovery Table~ Bristle animal connectors toys. Each animal was a different color and there was an assortment of animals as well. They enjoyed making shapes, crowns, lines and BIG circles with them that went around the whole table.
Easel~ Watercolor painting on apple trees or apple baskets papers
Art Table~ Finger painting on paper plates to make apples and we traced their hands to make a leaf on each apple, this was a very popular activity this week. We also had dot painters out on the table this week.
Writing Table~ Assorted paper along with markers, crayons, and stampers.
Books~
Duck on a Tractor By David Shannon
If you give a Pig a Party By Laura Numeroff
Brown Bear, Brown Bear By Bill Martin Jr
How do Dinosaurs Stay Friends By Jane Yolen
The Apple Pie Tree By Zoe Hall
Music:
Freeze Dance Can't Stop the Feeling
Number Rock Glad to See you
Tutti Ta Animal Action 2
Tick Tock Yoga Clock Dance for the Sun
Helpful tip for your child: We have the children carry all of their belongings into the classroom on our way back from the bathroom each day- to help them in this area we ask that if they have a lunch box to keep it inside their backpack when it is hung on their hooks, so everything is together. We are always there for helping them but we try to encourage their independence as much as we can while they are at school. Thank you in advance.
Have a wonderful weekend!!
Regards,
Julie Haynes & Katy Fyrberg
