Week of February 1st in Pre-K 2
Hello Pre K Families,
We said goodbye to our ice skating rink center and hello to a medical center ( Doctor’s office). The children are seeing many patients and loving this center!
This month, sensory bins are filled with shredded pink and white paper, gems, hearts and treasures to find!
Art Table- D is for Dinosaur. We made dinosaurs out of the letter D, we made dinosaur fossils and donuts.
Discovery Table- Items to sort in recycling bins.
Easel- At the easel the children did Drip Drop painting .Drops of paint, and watch it roll down the paper.
The Reading Street book this week was Round Is A Mooncake by Rosanne Thong.
An observant Asian-American girl notices the shapes of objects in her urban neighborhood. Her neighborhood becomes a discovery ground of things round, square and rectangular. Many of the objects are Asian in origin, other universal: round rice bowls and a found pebble, square dim sum and pizza boxes, rectangular Chinese lace and very special pencil case. We also discovered many shapes within our classroom.
We also read- Dazzle the Dinosaur and The Dinosaur that lives in my Backyard.
D song- Did Old Dandy Dog Dig in the Dirt?
Next letter is P, show and Tell on Tuesday.
A REMINDER!!!
VALENTINES DAY CLASSROOM PARTY-
**We will be celebrating Valentines Day with a party on Thursday February 11th h. We will be exchanging Valentines. You can send in Valentines any time next week. We have 10 children in the classroom. The easiest thing for me, and the children , is to send them in without names that they are for . Please have your child sign their name on all the valentines, showing whom the valentine is from.
Have a safe and happy weekend!
Warmly,
Miss Pascal
