Week of January 11th in 3's
Good afternoon 3’s families,
The children had lots of fun this week at school! NOTE: Registration begins next Tuesday, January 19th for current students! Hopefully, you had a chance to attend one of Mrs. Lay’s informational sessions. If you still have questions, please email me and I will be happy to help! Also, please let me know if there are any family members/friends that would like an invitation to our virtual open house on Saturday, January 30th. It is a great opportunity for new families to get a peek at our school!
This week at CIRCLE TIME,
· We read Little Owl’s Snow, by Divya Srinivasan.
· We danced to Animal Action, Freeze Dance, Baby Shark and the Stand-up Sit-down Song.
What’s new in CENTERS this week?
Art: Students used glue bottles to make a sparkly snowflake collage. They used dot-markers to decorate snowflakes. They also worked one-on-one with a teacher to make a name-sequence snowman. The children sequenced the letters of their first name in the shape of a snowman. Check out the finished products in the attached picture!
Discovery Bins: Gross-motor practice this week with snowball throwing! The girls and boys had fun tossing snowballs into the snowman basket.
Yellow Bins: The children matched shapes using magnetic snowman faces.
Blocks/Red Bins: Still playing with the trains and magnatiles! There has been a lot of opportunities to work on sharing and turn-taking in these centers.
Pretend Center: More ice cream scooping! The teachers have had LOTS of tasty, pretend-ice cream treats made for us by our expert, student ice cream-makers!
Chalkboard/Writing Center: This week, we practiced making circles. We drew a big cloud again, but instead of raindrops, we drew circle snowballs falling.
Have a wonderful weekend. We look forward to seeing you next Thursday.
Your teachers,
Brenda Daday & Christina Renoni
