Welcome Back in Mixed Age!
Hello Mixed Age Families,
We had a wonderful first week of school, everyone is adjusting to the routine and getting used to being together in the classroom. We have had a few tears at the beginning of the day but by 9:10 everyone is all smiles! They have all been doing such a good job wearing their masks while at school and we are very proud of them. Each day we have been talking about what the date is and we sing our Days of the Week song, we also discuss what the weather is outside.
Here is what we did this week in the classroom:
Math Table~ Colored Bears and cups
Discovery Table~ Magna Tiles and plastic animal, this was a popular center this week.
Art Table~ Chester Raccoon paper bag puppets and the Kissing Hand handprint,
Easel~ Free art with markers and big paper.
Pretend Center~ Babies and kitchen stuff. The babies are well fed and happy.
Writing Table~ Assorted paper along with markers and crayons, there were stamps out for them to use as well.
Sensory Table~ Oatmeal, cups, ladles, pretend apples and black beans. They enjoyed scooping and pouring the oatmeal.
Books we read:
The Kissing Hand By Audrey Penn
Pete the Cat and 4 Groovy Buttons By Eric Litwin
Music we danced to:
The Freeze Dance
The Silly Bear Hunt
Animal Action
We are the Dinosaurs
Wiggle your Fingers
Stand up, Sit Down song
I look forward to watching your children learn and grow this year. Within the next month or so we will have a letter of the week that will also go along with our Show and Tell. I will let you know when it starts during my weekly email in the next few weeks.
I hope you all have a wonderful weekend! See you Monday morning!!
Regards,
Julie Haynes & Katy Fyrberg
