Welcoming Fall in 4 Day Pre-K!
Hello Families!
We had another great week in Pre-K! The kids got their first introduction to "Letter of the Week", "Reading Street" and Show & Tell. Everyone did a nice job with the Letter L! Our next letter is F! Show & Tell is on Tuesday. Please remember to only have your child bring in 1 item that starts with F and have them leave it in their backpack. We do Show & Tell at our 2nd meeting of the day so they will be able to get it from their bag at that time.
Here is a look at our centers..
Art: paper plate Lions, water painting & self portraits. I gave each child a mirror and asked them to look into it and draw however they see themselves. I will keep these self-portraits in their portfolios which you will receive at the end of the year. I will have them do this activity again later in the year to see their progress.
Writing: I put out a bunch of "L" papers for them to work on. I also put out wooden sticks for them to use to make the letter "L". Each child got some 1-1 time with me to continue practicing our letter.
Math: number tracing and beginning operations folder games. The folder games are a variety of different math topics for the kids to explore and solve.
Science: building with magnets

I also wanted to share that our class came up with 18 "L" words today! 18! Considering this is their first time doing this I was impressed! Great job kiddos! Any questions or concerns please let me know. I hope everyone has a great (and dry!) weekend and I will see you Monday morning!
