Winter Fun Continues in the 3's!
Hi everyone!
We filled our playtime with snow, both inside AND outside the classroom this week! We had a lot of fun playing in the fluffy stuff on Tuesday morning!
Unintentionally following the theme, our book this week was The Snowy Day by Ezra Jack Keats. We heard about Peter's adventures as he played outside during a snowy day of his own.
Our new centers this week were...
Art- The children used Q-tips to paint their own version of a Snowy Day, complete with Peter.
Easel- We also had fun coloring a snowy day scene with Peter.
Math- Using tweezers (appropriately sized for their hand size and muscles) the children picked up "snowballs" and "ice cubes" to build or place in cups.
Discovery- We used "ice blocks" to build structures for our penguins.
Sensory- Cotton balls and packing peanuts filled our table for trucks to clear.
As always, the block area and pretend center were a big hit, as well as dancing!
We hope you all have a happy and healthy weekend!
Warmly,
Christina Renoni and Julie Haynes
