Wrapping up February in Mixed Age
Hello Mixed Age Families,
We had another busy good week and the kids settled in nicely after the school break. The weather has been so good and we loved playing outside today!! Spring come quickly!!! The class has really enjoyed having show and tell on Monday mornings and have been doing good talking about what letter the object starts with, making the letter sound and talking about their object while standing in front of the class.
Here is what we did in our classroom this week.
Math Table~ This week the kids were able to go on a number hunt. There were numbers 1-10 on sticky notes hanging around the classroom. They used the number checklist attached to a clipboard and hunted around for each of the numbers. This was a very popular activity this week and I see more hunting in their future!!
Discovery Table~ This week we had magna tiles and animal counters out. They love having things like this to play with and are working hard at creating things together. Magna tiles are always a hit no matter what center they are at.
Art Table~ Fork painting polar bears. They painted with white paint using plastic forks. When they were done painting they had to put on the polar bear pieces. There was also white paper out for the kids to draw their own creations if they wanted to.
Easel~ Painting snowflakes using the Botton of soda bottles.
Listening Center~ Llama, Llama and the Bully Goat By Anna Dewdney
The letter of the week next week is the O. Please bring in 1 object on Monday to show the class.
